The utilization of the pavement waste materials to roads
Furdaničová, Alice ; Šperka, Pavel (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the use of recycled asphalt with aggregate in a hydraulically bound mixtures. The mixture is determined in the base or sub-base course of the pavement. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis describes the base course of the pavement, the production of recyclates from construction demolition waste, the acquisition and processing of recycled asphalt, the road reuse and recycling. The thesis is enriched by a contribution from the implementation of recycled asphalt laying into the base course of the communication company SKANSKA a.s. and ČNES a.s. The next chapter describes detailed experiences with recycling abroad. The thesis also contains a description of laboratory tests, which are important for evaluating the properties of mixtures with recycled asphalt. The practical part verifies the suitability of the mixture of recycled asphalt and aggregate for the road surface by testing the transverse tensile strength, compressive strength and frost and water resistance. The mixtures used are found to be suitable for pavement base course.
The usage of the fine aggregates to cement bound mixtures
Švarcová, Monika ; Hýzl, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis occupies with use of fine aggregates in hydraulically bound mixtures for road pavement bases and sub-bases. The theoretical part describes properties of bound mixtures, aggregates and bound materials. This part also deals with laboratory methods used for bound mixtures and foreign research. In the practical part sand and gravel, crushed stone and recycled fine aggregates are used in bound mixtures with cement or cement and fluidized bed combustion ash. The unconfined compressive strength and frost and water resistance of bound mixtures are tested. The results of laboratory tests are evaluated and compared. The used mixtures are mostly found as suitable for pavement sub-bases.
The usage of the quarried aggregates to base layers of pavements
Borkesz, Michael ; Mondschein,, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The work deals with the possibilities of using fine crushed and quarried aggregate to base layers of roads. The introduction of the theoretical part explains the origin of this type of aggregate. There are also described the tests, which were used to verify the attributes and features of these mixtures and their use in cemented base layers of roads. In a brief way, the work also deals with foreign research and the possibilities that arise from it. In the practical part is then described the process of mixture preparing and laboratory tests carried out on them, the production of test specimens, load tests of these specimens and interpretation of the results. The conclusion summarizes the findings. Here are also discussed ways to apply them in practice.
The use of the waste aggregates for bound mixtures of pavements
Chloupek, Adam ; Zajíček, Jan (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The works deals with the possibilities of using non-standard fraction of fine crushed aggregate in route base layers. Goal of my thesis is research of using material from specific location. Theoretical part summarizes basic knowledge regarding bound mixtures and their normative requirements. Practical part of my thesis describes my various mixture design and following testing and determination of design properties by official and experimental tests. The conclusion summarizes the researched outputs and findings, which confirm the future possibilities of using this material in base layers.
The waste buildings material to subgrade of the pavement
Ševc, Jan ; Pecha, Karel (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the use of waste buildings materials to subgrade of the pavement. In detail it deals with monitoring the carrying capacity of the material used to replace unsuitable subgrade mainly of the urban road communications. It practically verifies California bearing ratio and resistance to frost and water of the waste buildings materials firmed by cement for possible use in subbase layers. The amount of residues in recycled bricks is essential for positive results in terms of the properties of materials in subgrade of the pavement.
Use of waste building materials to roads
Průdková, Hana ; Hýzl, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
This thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part collects available information on the current state of construction and demolition waste management. This section discusses demolition work, provides basic information on construction and demolition waste, and describes the recycling process. It also includes the most used types of recycled materials and their use in the roads. The thesis also explains the importance of the circular economy and compares prices of recycled and natural aggregates. The conclusion of the theoretical part is supplemented by foreign experiences. The practical part of this thesis focuses on the possibility of using concrete, asphalt and brick recycled and their mixtures cemented with hydraulic binders. The main goal was to verify the possibilities of using these recycled materials in the cemented base layers of roads. These options were verified and subsequently compared using laboratory tests. In the conclusion, there is an economic comparison of the use of recycled materials.
